hello. as you've probably guessed by now, my name is Pete Beck. i've been designing and constructing web sites for a living since 1996. i'm also a free-lance photographer, i live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

in my day job, i work on the web sites of the health insurer, Blue Shield of California. i designed and built their Life Insurance subsidiary's first web site back in 1997 (when they were known as CPIC Life) and did the same for their three subsequent iterations.

from 1996 through april 2003 i ran the web sites for Devil In The Woods records and DIW Magazine, redesigning the sites four times during my stay. two of these designs were nominated as finalists in South By SouthWest's web site design competition in the Best Music Industry category (1999 and 2000).

i have a BA in broadcasting from CSU Chico, i earned a Certified Webmaster Professional certification from Net Guru Technologies.
