MMmmm... Gumbo...
once again i am here on a monday morning reporting that the weekend went well and that today's workday has arrived way too soon. i did manage this weekend to clean the house up a bit, and i did get a chance to visit with old friends.
speaking of which, i'd like it to be known that IMHO my friend Erik has the best guitar collection ever. really. take a look at this:
a couple old Gretch's (including a Chet Atkins), an old acoustic Gibson, a pre-CBS Fender Jaguar. E and i were visiting he and Anne this weekend, and of course Erik and i had to sneak away to jam for a while. i tell you, that acoustic Gibson on the far right is the best damn guitar! it's so bright and warm. eventually he had to pry it out of my hands -- i was trying to figure a way to hide it under my coat when i left... :)
here's us in the middle of something, i'm not sure what.
note to self... i think i need a new guitar...
he and Anne also turned us on to a Caribbean restaurant in Sacto that had the most excellent fried plantains! and mojitos... and gumbo. mmmm... here it is -- six in the morning, and i'm making myself hungry for tiger prawn gumbo. damn.
so this weekend also showed us which two teams will be playing in the super bowl two weeks from now. sorry Craig. with my niners long gone from consideration (like by week three of the season) i had been rooting for your Steelers. my condolences. now i have to say i really don't care at all who wins now. that seems to be the general consensus i'm hearing from others too. is it just me or is there anyone out there who cares about the super bowl this year? i mean, even the half-time will be boring! Paul McCartney? who cares if he has a wardrobe malfunction -- in fact that would be downright scary!
enough of this, i'm off to work. happy monday everyone!

~rough day here in the 'burgh...there is a collective gloom that has settled in and taken over this city...IS it spring training time yet? My brother was teasing me with his list of Pirate activities he's covering in the weeks upcoming...By the way, I did not know you were a Bob Dylan in training~

I looked into the Typekey technology Pete, looks like I need to upgrade my MT first. Disregard my previous comment. ;o)
