Welcome Home!

E was gone all week, on a business trip to Houston. i hated it! not only do i miss her company when she's gone but with her gone it means i have to be the boss. i have to get up earlier to feed the cats, i have to run all the errands, i have to entertain myself. not that she necessarily does all of those things when she's here, it's just that i don't have anyone to share all these good times with.

i do have an observation though, about my week of temporary bachelorhood -- it's that i got the entire bed to myself! this should have been a good thing. no more fighting for the covers, no more being crowded out of the bed. but you know what? i've found that i'm so conditioned to sharing the bed that when i finally get the chance to stretch my ass out diagonally across the entire width, i end up keeping to my own little three food wide allocation. it just doesn't feel right to be over on her side. like at any minute i'm gonna find a knee in my back, pushing me back to my side. sheesh. i'm sure the cats didn't mind it though... it meant more territory for them.

i brought this up to E tonight after she got home and she said she goes through the same thing with hotel room beds. she says that even when she has a big 'ol bed to herself, that she will still sleep on her assigned side of the bed.

this got me wondering -- what happens if you break up with your significant other, you meet someone new, and it ends up that this persons side of the bed is the same as yours? what do you do?!

oh, and sorry about the comments being down earlier today. they're back up now. ends up it was the ISP's SQL db problems again, only this time i think it was their fault -- not mine.

I'm not married to one side of the bed or the other. As long as I can sleep with my mountain of pillows and cuddle blanket then I am AOK anywhere in the bed.

Buzz and I sometimes swap sides of the bed for no apparent reason. So I don't think that either one of us would ever have a problem. But I also don't think that we'll be breaking up, so it's a moot point! :)
