DoaOH!

ever say something so incredibly dumb that it just sort of stops all time for a moment? yeah, sort of like ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS?!! well yesterday it was my dads turn.

so Christmas day yesterday was spent at my sisters place. the whole family was there, even my reclusive dad. there was food everywhere -- way too much for us to consume in one sitting -- but of course, that didn't stop us from trying. Erin even brought up several mini size loaves of her yummy banana bread to share with everyone.

at the end of the day as we were all getting ready to go our separate ways, Erin hands my dad a loaf of this delectable bread and says, this one's for you to take home, it's some of my banana nut bread. to which my dad stares a blank stare for a moment and then says, i've never heard of a banana nut before...

DoaOH!

i've decided that this one actually is better then the previous #1 gaff -- the time Erin and i drove by a storefront that specialized in cleaning window coverings, who had a sign in the window that said "Blind Cleaners", and she says, how can they see the dirty spots in your clothes? *rim shot* yes, i nearly wrecked the car laughing so hard after that one.

so how are your holiday's going? did you get everything you wanted?

I've never heard of a banana nut, either!

My Mom made avocado nut bread this year. And a carrot cake. Sounds like a very veggie Christmas, but it's really good stuff, Maynard.

If your Dad doesn't want Erin's banana nut bread......I'll take it!

Our weekend was okay. Same family members at dinner on Friday night and on Saturday night. Don't know why my family insists on doing this. They run out of things to talk about on dinner #2 so they get cranky at each other.

Got to watch my Dad do some serious double dipping with a carrot and some onion dip - right after he had been outside smoking. That did it for me.
