Erin says i'm going deaf. i'm saying she needs to speak clearer.
you be the judge -- this was our conversation earlier tonight:
E: oh look, my new shoes came! i ordered them on line -- aren't they nice?
P: they're black. don't you already have about 20 pairs of black shoes?
E: not like these. they have a strap and a kitten heel!
P: you made that up. they don't make heels out of kittens.
E: *scowls*
P: so how much did you pay for these heels of kittens?
E: they were on sale, they were a hundred and fifty
P: A HUNDRED AND FIFTY! YOU PAID A HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOR ON-LINE SHOES?! WE'RE NOT MADE OF MONEY!
E: i said they were under fifty -- not a hundred and fifty. see? here's the invoice -- $48.99
P: ok, that's a lot better...
i still think "hundred and fifty" sounds an awful lot like "under fifty"...

why do women need all those shoes? You can only wear one pair at the time. And if you have a pair of black shoes, why indeed do you need a truckload of -slightly different- more black shoes??
