Please Pass The Insulin
holy cow! what the heck is up with my office? everywhere i turned yesterday there were piles and piles of halloween candy!
do these coworkers of mine honestly think i have that kind of will power?
of course not. let me just say for the record that those special Halloween Kit-Kat's are the bomb. chocolate insides with a white chocolate exterior that's been dyed orange... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......
so anyway, i helped myself to a few of those delicacies and then avoided the entire area where the candy was put out for the rest of the morning. which was hard, as it was between my desk and the elevators. and the bathroom. but i suppose my coworkers must have eventually taken pity on me, as shortly after lunchtime -- all the candy miraculously disappeared! and it wasn't me that did it. honestly.
this got me thinking -- how much candy that's bought each year just before halloween makes it into the tricker-treater's pillowcases? judging by the bowl that's still sitting on my dining table today, i'd say in my house it's about a 50/50 thing. but i think that's probably because we bought a little extra under the excuse that we needed it -- just in case we had a lot of kids show up later on in the evening.
yeah right. like i would let any late arriving kid get any of my mini butterfingers... if that happened it would be time to turn out the lights and turn on the sprinklers.
how 'bout you -- did you buy extra for yourself? and if so, what were the ones that the kids never saw?
and now i'm off to cast my vote and then on to work! do your part -- go vote today!

I have my own kids, so I really don't have to save any for me from my own stash....I just steal from theirs while they're not looking. Bwaaahaaahaaa

i'm with mike ... but we call it "candy tax" around our house. or "rent" or "tasties" ... depends on which term we used the last time we stole candy. hee hee.
