A Post With No Name
once both the A's and Giant's had been eliminated from post season play, i vowed not to watch any more baseball. but that hasn't happened. after all, someone had to beat the Yankees, and you know -- i really didn't care who it was, just as long as someone takes them out. kind of like i don't really care who beats GWB 11 days from now, just as long as he isn't around to set our nation back any further then he already has. but i digress. i was talking about how i've been watching the baseball playoffs. four days ago i was all ready to concede that the Sox were all but done in by the pinstripes, and i was looking ahead to which National League team was gonna be my next favorite to beat the yanks. but i don't think even the most di-hard Boston fan expected their team to come back like they did these past few days. and best of all, last night it was former Oakland A's outfielder, Johnny Damon, who was the one who finally found his bat and led the charge. what can i say, congratulations Boston! i'm now a Sox fan -- well, for the next two weeks at least.
and on a completely different note... after yesterday's Spam Boner Princess comment, Dan pointed out to me that Spam Boner Princess would make a good name for a cruise ship! of course that too started me off on a whole silly line of thinking. a name like that really does spawn its' own storm of one-liners, you know.
one-liners like, "tonight's movie on the Lido Deck, Up Periscope!" or, "i think i'll be avoiding the all you can eat buffet..." or, "man, that sure is a big ship!"
do you have any to add?
oh, and a quick TiVo programming alert: scheduled to perform tonight on Leno -- Bill Shatner with Ben Folds and Joe Jackson. this is destined to either be really bad or, well, really bad... don't miss it!

Okay, i don't even like baseball, and i am stoked that the yanks got beat.
Have i ever mentioned that whenever i see a yankees hat, i see a swastika that's just slightly off kilter?

Something about damning the torpedoes would work I guess.... I'll admit I don't watch baseball. Don't dislike it, it just doesn't catch my attention. Like the international weather. But can someone explain what they seem to be playing later and later into football seaon every "summer?"

I actually hate baseball. Sorry, but I think it's the most boring game ever...that said, even I know it's a big deal that the Red Sox beat the Yankees. I mean, it's just sort of cool for them to finally do it. I still think the announcer at the end of the game should have said, "THE RED SOX BEAT THE YANKEES, THE RED SOX BEAT THE YANKESS". You all old fashioned style....or at least like they acknowledged that it was a TOTAL BIG DEAL!
