My Complicated Life
next monday is Erin and my wedding anniversary. back in June, i got the idea that wouldn't it be fun if we spent it doing something different? we both have wanted to see The Lion King and i thought that tickets to the SF production might be fun. but try as i might there weren't any good seats left. so then i got the idea, why not just go to the source! sure enough, i got on-line and found that there were great seats available for the original Broadway show in NY -- and wouldn't you know it, Jet Blue had round trip, non-stop flights available for our anniversary weekend for $200 each! the decision was a no-brainer.
ok, so maybe it's gonna be a little tiring, flying to New York for a weekend, but hey -- it certainly falls into the "we've never done that before" category!
now little did i know but Erin had been thinking along the same lines, only she was thinking about a long weekend in Vegas for the following weekend. when we finally sat down and took a look at what each of us had been planning we laughed and said -- hey why not do both! as this planning was happening back in June it didn't seem like such a big thing. but then a few more events started to creep into our calendar... like my mom's camping trip last weekend.
and then the wedding invites started to roll in. not just one mind you. or two. but three -- three different weddings in a five week period! and one of them, the one that falls on the weekend after our Vegas trip, will require yet another plane ride. that means three round trip flights on three consecutive weekends! what the hell was i thinking?!!
so if you might have been wondering what i had going on this next month you get the general idea. i think that this year will be the first that i'm gonna openly embrace winter and the coming holiday season. why? because compared to all of this, it's going to be so relaxing!

A couple of years ago I flew to NYC for a weekend and it was a whirlwind of fun. Hope all your travel is smooth and enjoyable.

wowee zowee, that is a lot of flying. Just the flight from SF to NY alone is ridiculous. I hope you have a direct flight. And all the weddings?! That's obscene. I feel for your pocketbook man. You are going to be one broke, pooped bastard. ;o) All the same, sounds like a lot of fun is in your immediate future!
