A's 6, Giant's 2

it was a beautiful day for a ballgame today. and one of the really great things about it was my two favorite teams were playing. each other. and because of that, at least one of them would be going home a winner. ah, the joys of interleague play!

under sunny, fog-free skies, game two of the A's / Giant's series was in SBC Park, SF. as you can see below, our seats may have been in nose-bleed teritory, but at least they were shady and behind home plate.

Chix and i have a difference of opinion on for who and how to cheer when your two favorite teams play each other. she roots for whoever is at bat -- she goes as far as to bring both an A's and Giant's visor, and will switch them every half inning. me, i say you've got to root by ballpark. if these guys were playing each other across the bay at The Net i'd be wearing my A's jersey and hat. but they were at PacBell so i wore my "Pitch To Barry" t-shirt and Giant's cap.

what about you -- do you have rules like this? or is it just us.

OK, in all honesty I hate baseball. Well that's not quite right, I just don't care a thing about it and can't stand to watch it...but I LOVE hearing people who love it talk about it. People get so mystical and poetic and passionate about baseball and THAT I love. I mean look at you two with your highly developed set of rituals and rules that make you a part of something that lights you up inside...that is so cool!

i'm not a big baseball fan either, but it's giants all the way.

actually, with any sport i usually have a favorite over all others. if two of my favorite teams are playing (like steelers v. 49ers), i still have to root for my favorite (steelers).

~I root for the home team, always...unless I am in another city and my brother hooks me up with a ticket, in that case I just kick back and enjoy the game itself, devoid of any "cheering"...Is Baroid Bonds still denying any involvement in the steroids-thing?~

I like Chix way of supporting the teams. I would be fun to watch, actually! A little schizo. That ballpark looks fantastic!

I never go to a game NOT in my A's gear. Even when going to a Dodgers game down there, I'd still wear it.
I [an S.F. resident] will NOT wear Giants gear EVAR!!
