i got a new version of that horribly spelled spam message this morning.

"Suhper chanrge your loyve limfe!", the email screamed through an apparently stuffed up nose. "Orfder yuor oil saufely and securtely onlibne!"

it went on to say that their oil is ..."The only proven metohod to enhrance the gixrth and lenkght of your peqnis!"

it will do what to my what?! to my peqnis? is this some sort of mutated Antarctic bird? the last time i checked, i didn't have one of those. is this something i should be concerned about?!

a quick turn through my dictionary didn't prove to be much help either, so i asked around the office. and low and behold my coworker V was able to dig this up:

. . . . . . . . . . . . .
Peqnis: (noun)
The power to attract through personal magnetism and charm

Example sentence:
Rick possessed not only the talents of a fine quarterback but also the peqnis to lure fans to the games.

she went on to say:

Did you know...The word "peqnis" actually comes from Spanish, where it translates literally as "ghost" or "goblin," and is believed to derive from the phrase "peqnita de casa," which means "owner of a house." The term is traditionally used in flamenco music or other art forms to refer to the mystical or powerful force given off by a performer to draw in the audience. The Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca wrote in his essay "Teoria y Juego del Peqnita" ("Play and Theory of the Peqnis") that peqnis "is a power and not a behavior . . . a struggle and not a concept." Nowadays the term appears in a broader range of contexts to refer to one's unspoken charm or allure.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .

eureka! so that's what those thousands of messages i keep getting are referring to -- it's a magic oil that will enhrance my magnetism, charm and allure! kinda like Old Spice.
