it was one of those chamber of commerce kind of days today here in SF. and the jets were back, roaring through the beautiful blue fall skies. i grabbed a quick fastfood lunch and went out to the pier behind the ferry building, to see if i could get a few more pictures. but wouldn't you know it, the blue angels decided to take lunch about then too.
but i did get these three pictures:

one of the most well known landmarks in SF, coit tower

the recently refurbished ferry building and the palm trees of the embarcadero

the now dry fountain at justin herman plaza.
and just to date myself for a moment, when i was in high school, a former local radio station used to hold free concerts on this plaza. i can't tell you how many sunny afternoons i cut school to see bands such as DEVO, Pearl Harbor and the Explosions and Tower Of Power perform on the stage next to this fountain.

aaah ... coit tower. i proposed to my wife at the top of that tower. we were "touring" sf and i had it all planned to pop the question up there. then we got there and she saw how much it was to go up to the top (we were poor college kids) and she said "let's just go, it's too much". i resisted and said "no, let's go, it'll be cool." she knew something was up because i would usually say "no prob" or something like that.
so we went to the top and i popped the question, she said yes (obviously). that was 9 years ago (7 that we've been married) ... and we've been together ever since.
