do you ever feel like there's no justice in this world, only to be proven wrong? that happened to me this morning.

i'm driving my back road shortcut to the train station. i'm mostly doing the speed limit when out of no-where, i'm passed by a guy on a crotch rocket. he's weaving lanes and making those big sweeping, back and forth curves that you do when you're out on your bike on a warm summer morning. i used to do this same commute on a bike, so i know well what he was feeling. but there's no excuse for riding as fast and out of control as he was. after rick's accident and my own last year, i find i have a whole new protective attitude towards people on motorcycles and it pisses me off when i see riders doing stupid stuff like this. so anyway, i come down off the hill and what do i see up ahead? a lafayette cop car with his lights on at the side of the road. and who has he pulled over?

like i say, some mornings justice is done. and now maybe this guy will ride a little slower and carefully, so that he'll end up riding for years to come.

time for me to get to work - have a great friday everyone!

I have come to the conclusion that CA warrants dumbasses on crotch rockets and I despise it. I wish that cop lived in my town!

Those guys don't learn - they die. I was driving out of the city one day in a moving truck sized van. Despite the fact that I was well within my lane, a crotch rocket FLEW up on my driver side and smacked his helmet on my mirror so hard it almost came completely off. Scared the crap out of me! He just shook his head and contined to recklessly FLY throught traffic. The nurses in our ER call them donor cycles.

I saw two of those guys crash at once one time, in the curvy part of the 101 near Agoura, outside LA. They were racing, got the speed wobbles in the curves, and went down in the fast lane. One of the bikes kept bouncing into the air. I remember one of the riders was a woman, and she was trying to stand up on two obviously broken legs. Looked like Gumby on bad tequila. Couldn't hear her over the traffic, but I'm sure she was screaming..... Dress rehearsal for a Darwin Award. ... "Fiat justitia et pereat mundus. -- Let justice be done, though the world perish."
