it's 11:00 at night out here and this is the first chance i've had all day to sit down. erin and i haven't even had dinner. guess it's probably too late for that. we knew the day was gonna be a busy one as we're hosting a co-ed baby shower tomorrow at our place for kate & jeff - and we had a full day of cleaning and prep. what we weren't expecting was finding out that our fridge decided to stop working sometime during the night. all the food in the freezer was thawed out, all the ice was melted. after several frantic calls to several repair places, we found one that, although were unable to come out, was able to give us some suggestions on resetting it. we tried them out and they actually worked! it took another four hours to get everything cold again. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. we also finished up the paint, baseboards and hardware in the bathroom, as well as framing and hanging the new art work. how many months has this been going on...? sheesh.
we also bought over 100 little paper lanterns for the deck the other day, and today i set the poles and strung them. they're lit by little christmas light bulbs - which doesn't sound like they would be too bright. but when you've got this many they light up the area just fine - take a look!
now to do a little blog reading and then get some sleep...
