Don't Let Us Go Near Silent Auctions
what is it with us and charity events?! tonight we went to a mexican dinner and charity auction that was a benefit for Nina's church. oh, and did i mention they had all you could drink wine? those of you who remember the damage Erin and i incured at the Cancer Society silent auction a few years ago are probably holding your breath right now. well, we didn't do too bad at the silent part (we scored four A's vs Angels tickets and a basket of bath/spa stuff), but the damage came at the live auction part. maybe it was the wine that got us bidding, maybe it was Gerry and Michelle's encouragement, but the four of us ended up winning the most expensive item of the night - a cabin in tahoe for four days. ah well, i was ready for a vacation - and when you divide the cost up among all of us, it isn't that bad. i guess it's party time in the mountains! woo-hoo!
